The rock formation and town got their name, "Mexican Hat" from a curiously up-sidedown sombrero-shaped rock outcropping on the northeast edge of town. The rocks precariously balanced at the top are 60-foot wide by 12-foot thick.
A developing rock arch at Goose Creek Trail, along Utah's Hwy 128 which follows the Colorado River. It will take thousands of years for the arch to completely develop.
